All my written reviews and podcasts
All of TIFF 2025 in One Place

Earlier today, I launched the final podcast in my TIFF 2025 coverage, and I thought I’d compile all my coverage into one convenient newsletter. This includes the three reviews I did for Pop Heist, the newsletters I previously shared, and four podcasts covering the Fall Movie schedule, pre-fest coverage, and movie capsule reviews.

Remember, this newsletter is free to subscribe to, but in order to keep doing this work, I need support from readers like you. This is truly a labor of love, as I don’t get paid for a lot of the work I do here. Thankfully, I made some money thanks to the Pop Heist commissions, but the trip to Toronto and lodging were expensive. If you’ve enjoyed my content over the years and never thought to become a paid subscriber, now is the time. If you would like to support me but refuse to fund publications under Substack, reach out to me, and we’ll work something else out. Above all else, thank you for being a reader. If you like what I do, please share it and let people know about It’s the Pictures.

Fall Festival Season Begins with TIFF 2025 Must-see Films
We are starting to get a better picture of what movies will debut during the Fall Festival season. Like last year, the Venice Film Festival will lead the charge, starting on August 27th, while the Telluride Film Festival begins on Labor Day weekend. Not to be left behind, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) begins on September 4th with the world premiere of the documentary
Haunted Houses, Kidnapping, and more from TIFF 2025
I had the pleasure of covering the 50th Toronto International Film Festival this year and wanted to share my thoughts on some of the features I saw there. If you didn't know, TIFF usually runs at the beginning of September, with this year taking place between September 4–14, 2025. Films from all over the world are played, and I saw 19 of them during my time there.
