Excalibur Comes Home With A Miraculous 4K UHD Worthy of Legend

I love myself a good sword-and-sorcery movie—heroes with great bravado, legendary swords of myth, and epic tales of kings. There was a wave of these movies in the ‘80s, from movies like The Beastmaster and Willow, to more memorable classics of the genre in Dragonslayer and Conan the Barbarian. One title that was usually included in this collection of all-time greats was John Boorman’s Excalibur. Throughout the years, there have been home video releases of Excalibur, but it never looked all that great. Now, Arrow Video has stepped in and delivered the de facto home video release of this memorable film. I’ll get into more detail about the extras and its journey to 4K UHD shortly, but first, I want to talk about Excalibur.
